Iournalism The publications of Klein Forest provideaunique opportunity forteacher and student. David Woods, advisor and journalism instructor, feels that this course is the most relevant on campus. Newspapers communicate the current news, the information that most affects its readers and yearbooks record the most important and memorable aspects of life during the years at Klein Forest. One goal Woods has for hisjournalism students is that, They'll understand what a newspaper is. He wants students to appreciate the fact that newspapers are published by private institutions and not produced by the government. Sur- prisingly, many students aren't aware this is the case, Woods said. Students developing an accurate perception of newspapers in relation to other sources of information is also important to Woods. To achieve these goals Woods utilizes the textbook, local papers, lectures, and lots of hands-on writing practice. Students taking the course recommend it if a person is seriously committed to a future in journalism. . Varsity volleyball coach Peggy Boswell cheers her team to victory. fm. Answering the telephone is only one of the many tasks of associate principal secretary Margaret Chickering. sophomore Natalie Hays. The various 'tools of the trade' come in handy very often. Each student is required to feed and keep some type of livestock for the duration of the school year. The student owns the animal and must groom and care for it as well. If the animals are taken good care of, they might get a chance to compete in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Concerning his feelings about his teacher, sophomore john Gillespie replied, Mrs. Harrington is one of the best FFA teachers to come to KF in a long time. Due to her punctuality and hard-working habits, the outlook for the future of the FFA looks very good. Each and every student that enrolls in this class will emerge at the end of the year thoroughly educated in the field of agriculture and farming techniques, Mrs. Harrington concluded. aq ,A Gary Burgess Dean Cannavan Sharon Carol Nancy Cashiola Woodshop Chemistry I English II Science Margaret Chickering Brenda Christian Cherie Clark Verna Clark Secretary Computer Math Principals Secretary English II FACULTY I STAFF 1 13
