V-1's roof rats spot aircraft for launch and provide flight deck damage control through the Crash and Salvage crew. Once the aircraft have been spotted , or positioned on the catapults the safety of the aircraft and crew rests with V-2. V-3 assists squadrons in their 'ntenance efforts by spotting the air- mai craft in the most advantageous position for the required work. In addition V-3 operates the four huge elevators used to transport aircraft from the flight deck to the hangar deck. V-4 division is responsible for the de- livery of highest quality jet propulsion fuel to all the embarked aircraft. The grapes can be found anywhere from the flight deck to the hangar deck to the pump rooms located on the lowest levels of the ship. They oversee storage and also the transfer of fuel from huge tanks to aircraft waiting on the fli ht deck. Y-5 division mans both Primary Flight Control and the Air Department Uffice. Primary Flight Control personnel assist the Air Boss and Mini Boss in coordinating the launching and recovery of aircraft.
