California RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the USS Kitty Hawk has recently arrived at the port of San Diego, designated as home port; and WHEREAS, the USS Kitty Hawk is commanded by Captain William F Bringle, U. S. Navy; and WHEREAS, the vessel is 1, 047. 5 feet in length and 255 feet in width and If the vessel were placed on end it would be equivalent to an 80-story building- and ..:■ «E«EAS, the USS Kitty Hawk has 4. 1 acres in her flight deck and sm additional 2 acres of hangar deck space and is manned, together with her air group by a total of 4, 100 officers and crew; and WHEREAS, it appears an excess of 500 new famUies will shortly be tak- ing residence in the San Diego area as a result of the Kitty Hawk ' s assignment to San Diego; and e =■■■. »o . f .
