English courses. ln addition to the fundamentals of grammar, the pupil is taught to interpret and evaluate what he reads. Vocabulary and literary appreciation are aided by the many Written and oral activites which are offered hy Miss Henry, Miss Walsh, and Mrs. Williams. Building word power in English Interest and emotional development are stim- ulated by the use of newspapers, radio, and T.V.g while contemporary American writings, as well as English literature, are studied. The most important goal of our English courses is efficiency in the types of expression which a good citizen will need in his social, recrea- tional, and vocational pursuits.
