HOME I 959 The Homecoming cele- bration of 1958 began with a snake dance and a bonfire at the football field on Thursday, September 25, with refresh- ments being furnished by the Lions Club. The next day, September 26, a parade, including floats from each class on the theme of Space Age and the marcing band, celebrated the event. After the parade, a pep rally was held in the gym where prizes were awarded for the best floats and class skits. The cheerleaders led a few John Simmons, Sharon Zang. peppy yells and the pep band played. The coaches introduced their football squad and encouraged every- one to attend the game that night. Fred Crandall, Sandra Nelson. Larry Smith, Iva Kay Lindberg. Compliments of these Monmouth businessess: WHITE HOUSE DAIRIES CO.-- 318 S. Main TEEN SHOP-- 105 S. Main LESTER'S SHELL SERVICE- -413 S. Main MONMOUTH IMPLEMENT CO. --1305 S. Main COMING A dance following the game lasted until midnight. The setting for the crowning of the King and Queen was ascending steps to an archway beautifully decorated in red and white. The remainder of the gym was decorated with the motif of the theme. The crowning ofthe King and Queen was a breathless moment. The coronation of John Simmons and Sharon Zang and the presentation of Iva Kay Lindberg, Larry Smith Sandra Nelson, Fred Crandall, Merrillyn Ross, and Joe Henry as their attendants was performed by our principal, Mr. Johnson.
