4:30 BUS Oh clear, here comes Wally. It must he -1:30 already. It seems as though I never get any rest around here. No sooner do they get off when it's time for them to get on again. I don't think my axle is going to hold up much longer. Just wait until it does break down right in the middle of no where: then they will be sorry. Here they come screaming, laughing, pushing. You would think that they had never seen me before. 1 wish that girl would be more careful. She’s going to break my door down one of these days. Ouch! Fatso had better lose some weight be- cause my seats won’t be able to stand much more of her Imuncing around. Oh. oh. she's got some ice cream today. Look out! There it goes right on mv new seat cover too. Hev, watch where you are poking that knitting needle. Thank heavens there are only a few left. What is that I hear? Don’t tell me they are going to sing On Top Of Old Smokey again? They have sung it so much that the air is getting thin from the high altitude. At last the last person is off. Now maybe I can go back to the garage for a few wonderful hours of rest until morning. . . . Louise Marlin B B O TII i: B S To me brothers are the most wonderful relations on this earth. At one time, when my brother was al out ten. I would have told you just tin- opposite. We had numerous fights which alwavs ended with me the loser and mv pig-tails much tin- worse for wear. Since mv mother never allowed us to tattle, these battles were al- ways very one-sided. I guess mv brother didn’t believe in chivalry. When lu- went a wav to school three vears ago. his attitude toward me changed immensely. Now. there is no one in the familv that I would rather tell mv troubles to. lie treats me more like his best girl than his little sister. Instead of hating to have me tag along, he asks me to come, and takes me everywhere under the sun. Last summer lie took me to mam polo games, on several dates, and even went so far as to risk his life hv teaching me to drive. He also has made me very popular among the girls, for all I have to do is pull out his picture, and many girls are suddenly attached to me and want to come home to v isit me. All in all. 1 wouldn't trade mv brother for unvthing in the world, although. I imagine il he reads this, there will be another complete change in his attitude. . . . Hapinj Doll

Its jumping, bursting, vivacious flames. And ever upward movement. Its long fingers fighting high Striving, striving to get somewhere Are life itself. It's in the soldiers. In the eternal love of their country. It's in friendship, in love of mankind It’s in little children, striving to achieve farawav goals. Just like the fingers of fire, striving, upward. It's in the workmen, masons, the streelclcancrs It's the fire of hope and enthusiasm. The effort to become better. It's in the children, keeping them going to school It’s something inside— Maybe the ambition to learn. Fire is in the countenance of every person alive I lave you seen it? l-ook around you. On some faces, it’s the continuous struggle to progress. On others, it's the flame of honestv. In still others, it's the burning flame of good w ill. Each indiv idual trait is a fire. Fire should be kept alive; For il it should die llumanitv would hopelesslv cease. . . . Marih n Malone
