Sure they still teach sewing and cooking, but now specialize them towards open- ing doors to exciting careers, rang- ing from your own cloth- ingkzlterations shop to becoming the head chef at a filthy rich res- taurant in Beverly Hills. In a world growing more and more amazingly complex every day, no matter how intricate science makes our lives, we Will always return to the basics. Everyone, despite their social status, needs a place to stay. Choosing courses in industrial arts proves to be a wise decision: the world Will always need people to build their homes and buildings. H ART LY AN OPEN Art. That's painting, a free period in the schedule, right? Wrong! Art at Kingston is sculpting, sketching, drawing, carving and so many other things! The work can be painstaking and tedious, but the results provide the gratification that very few other courses offer: pride in something you created. What lies ahead for the art major? No, not a flat in Greenwich Village, but exciting careers in the fields of photography, design, and advertising. Art Department: K. Aspromonte, K. Brett, D. Eakins, P. Gould-Peck, R. Spada, D. Stigbert. NOTE WORTHY FOLKS . . . Amidst the diverse curriculum of- fered at Kingston, classes are avail- able for students Who have discov- ered and Wish to pursue the beauty of music. Whether students study the courses With careers in mind or just as a hobby, they make enchanting music together as a Whole: band bringing life to the crowd at football games while choir and orchestra give their own encore perfor- mances. A SPECIAL KNACK . . . Teaching can be a tough task as it is, but it takes someone special to teach special education. The job re- quires more patience and kindness of a person, but this caring is well spent. Their students may take a lit- tle longer to learn some things, but they've got this going for them: they have some of the finest teachers in this school. Special Education Department: L. Bahorik, B. AN APPLE A DAY Health, the course that all KHS students must take, teaches us about ourselves and our bodies. We learn about how we think, What upsets us and how to get over it. We also learn about our bodies, how they run, what makes them run and how to keep them running. It is essential to know how to keep ourselves alive and well, no matter who or what we turn out to be.
