They were curious to discover what all those big boys and girls did when they entered K.l-l,S. Although satisfying our curiosity took most of our time, we still found time to take part in the eight and ninth grade Christ- mas party. ln September of 1951 we were ready to parti- cipate in the activities of this great high school. We were Freshmen! To prove that we really were the best Freshmen class ever, we went over the top sell- ing the West Side News and sponsoring our terrific Twirp Tag Sport Dance. As Sophomores we were the middle class of the high school. We became members of the many clubs and teams. C7444 Poem Tonight we start our journey upon the road of life. Hidden are our dreams: unknown to us our strife. As we gaze upon the map which leads to worlds unknown, We ask, 'Which byway shall we take: which one will be our own? Now we are prepared to start upon our ways, For tonight marks the climax our our high school days. We'l1 not forget the past: the joy of those few years, With our teachers as our friends through laughter and through tears. The future's in our hands: do with it what we may. And though the road is dark at first, we will find our way. Tonight marks the beginning, our journey will be long. But if our character is high, we never can go wrong. Mariellen Connell
