ll 150 rd af ffducafizuf aft Fit Q .m a -Q f X '93 The school board is the organization that governs the school district. It is composed of seven men, who are all individually prominent in our community. They are Dr. A. W. Grover, Mr. Arthur R. Powell, Mr. Lundy Wright, Mr. William L. Morgan, Mr. Albert Fairchild, Mr. Louis Leger, and Mr. George M. Huey. They study conditions throughout the school district and make the decisions as to the operation of all the schools under their iuriscliction. These gentlemen serving on the school board have shown great interest in the activities carried on at the high school. We are indeed greatly indebted to them. The duties of Secretary, for the Board of Education, are capably discharged by Mrs. Marita Noone. The solicitor for the school district is Attorney William Brewster. The capable head of all Kingston schools is Mr. John Kennedy, Superintendent of schools. On his shoulders rests the responsibility of the repairs and improve- ment of all the schools in Kingston. He checks thoroughly and then approves plans concerned with the betterment of our schools. ln charge of the administration of our school is our Principal, Mr. Burton Hankey. The decisions involved in the management of the high school are well handled by him and his efficient office staff. He has cooperated fully with the programs of our faculty and the student body involving extra- curricular activities and any other school matters. He has given freely of his time and effort to help make these programs great successes. ln the ful- fillment of his duties Mr. Hankey has never been lacking. 3 it 55 BURTON W. HAN KEY

Admin! fmfizfe .Assistants In his capacity as Director of Activities, Mr. lveson comes in contact with all the students at one time or other, and he is respected and admired by them all. He is especially well-known among the upper-class- men because he is Business Advisor of both the Junior and Senior classes. Kingston High School is very fortunate in having Mr. lveson as a member of the administrative staff. Our Capable Dean of Men in the high school is Mr. James Jones. lt is his duty to help boys needing advice on various problems. To the colleges which require them, he gives character references on former students applying for admission to college. Also, he participates in management of sports in the high school. Mr. Jones has many other duties which he attends diligently. Miss Williams has been a source of good advice to many girls who have been in need of counsel. Besides working with student problems, she directs the English department, participates in school programs, and is in charge of Kingston's participation in cultural inter- scholastic competition. Because Miss Williams treats those who come to her with sympathy and understand- ing, and because she capably handles those cases placed before her, we feel that we are indeed fortunate to have her as our Dean of Women. The Guidance Department, under the capable direc- tion of Mr. Bennett, advises the students in choosing their subiects and planning their careers. In addition, this department also has a tea for the college preparatory students, sponsors a career day, show films on various occupations, and prepares stu- dents for college board tests. This department is indeed worthy of the respect, admiration and confidence bestowed upon it by both the faculty and the students.
