The officers elected for the year were: President, Dolores Lewicki: Vice President, Ruth Dilley: Secretary, Patricia Edwards: Treasurer, Phyllis Berk. Some of the highlights of the clubs activities were: a vxeiner roast, a rummage sale, a Christmas party for orphans of St. Stanislaus Orphanage, and a tobaggan party. Any senior girl who wished, could become a member of the club. The only requirements were that she pay her dues, attend at least three-fourths of the meetings, and to participate in the clubs activities. Mrs. Edward Chapin was the club advisor. We, the Sen- ior-Y-Teens. wish to take this opportunity to thank her for her hard work in making this year a successful one for the Senior- Y-Teens. JUNIOR Y-TEENS The officers were: President. Ruth Wilbiir: Vice-President, Ianet Wagner: Secretary, Rita Gelb: Treasurer. Katharine Zwe- ier. Laura Lane and Marlene Kise were elected to represent the group on the Inter-Club Council. The club met twice a month. once at the High Schcol, and once at the Y.VV.C.A. The girls participated in many services as well as social activities during the year, among them being the annual Yuletide Ball and Spring Prom. They also contrib- uted to the Community Chest, and the making of place-cards for the state Y-Teen conference held at Hazleton in February. For the benefit of the club, the girls sold maroon and grey plastic bookcovers with a picture of the High School on the front. We of the 1950 Iunior Y-Teens would like to express our deepest appreciation to Miss Iayne, for having so much patience in helping us organize and carry on our work. Under the Capable direction of Mrs. Marjorie Brown Thomas, once again the Class of SO showed that they have acting ability. Of course there were some outstanding memhers of the cast. To mention a few, there was Alvin Kaufer. the grandfather and the male lead. who indeed did a superb job as he carried the hulk of the play, along with Avis Lutz, who played the female lead of Penny , Then there was the Russian dancing teacher, Mr, Kolenkhovf' portrayed by Ed Roman whom we are sure no one will ever forget, as well as his student, Elsie , played by Nancy Dugan. Sarah Simon and Bill ibatimer did a wonderful job as the colored servants of the Sycamore amily. VVe l-:now th-at everyone will always remember the Senior Play by the class of MDG lor it was indeed most humorous and enjoyable. ew Bottom Row lleft tri riqhtl Thnma Smith amuel Vhlcmtt Bexerlx Strunk us ut r hi mi Alun lxmfer Anne Mule Sn er Vkillmm Litrimer Second Row VX illi im Fore ter Ch ir es i x ri N :rim Unger xx ird Rcmin Rcnnie Xkilliim Bri ex Nilli u nu uq n r mi n li He E JUNIOR PLAY mm Row :lah rl mqhtl Uwe Phlllm Slnrx iran Mxrx e Yin 1 irlnrxe hlnnmx een e e xxx e I 1 l llfn Q cond Row N mu 'Vlmltm na N b r r xrblrm :nt mrlrrn ll' 1 C l l' if Cf! Coaarlohn Kopicia B A S E B A L L Baseball, the great American sport, proved to be just this for the seventy eager boys that reported to Coach Kopieki in early April. This figure was narrowed down to twenty-four players. Although they were mostly an inex, perienced group, they had the eagerness and determination to prove their skill to perform like champions, The seniors on the team. who deserve recognition, are eafelier. Iohn Yuscavage, Iohn Rentschler. Robert Loveland, Iohn Adams, Iohn Dougherty. Ioe Surwilla, Iames Thomas, and Vincent Kalinosky. These boys, with the help of the remaining players, displayed the highest brand of sportsmanship even though they did not always win. Our first game with GAR was a thriller. although we lost by the close score of 3-2. ln the next game with Meyers we were on the long end of the score 3-1. Iohn Rentsehler pitched an outstanding game allowing only one hit. VVe hope that in future years Kingston High School will produce many successful baseball teams. ww-at LW 'hw rg' ' -.4---1 , WI' , A.-W Target-Iohn Yuscavage 19 r--Q--.. Inches to Spare -IO Feet Ill Open Up On your mark-Robert Bcllas 50 On April H, Coach Don Hilbert issued his call for the fleet-footed track men of Kingston and received a large and enthusiastic turnout. VVith the boys taking to the cinders later than usual. Coach Hilbert and assistant Coach VVilliams had little time to whip the team into top shape. On April 26, the Huslgies met Coughlin in the opening meet. Although they were heaten 86- -12, this did not dampen their determination in the following meets. The next two meets the Huskies redeemed themselves hy trimming lVleyers hy a double score of 81-45 and Plymouth by a triple score of 9-ill-3213. Fennell and Ternowski proved to he the senior spark plugs of the team. while Sorher, Kingstons iron lunged miler and half miler, along with Hus- band, who is top performer in the 100 and 220. were the underclass hackhone of the track team of 5O .
