To the first I am glad to say that I am, and to the second, I do miss the students but am greatly pleased by the many fine reports of activities and accomplishments. Since my arrival in 1949 I have been continuously impressed by the whole student body and staff of the Breitung Township Schools. The exemplary conduct of Kingsford High students, in school and out, has brought high praise from many people. Soon, with the new build- ing assured you will have greater opportunities to learn. In the last few years Kingsford High School has been fortunate in its develop- ment of one of the finest track records in the Upper Peninsula. A resume of their records show that our track teams have dominated the area in individual events . and team records. Kingsford has won the Range Championship seven of the last eight years: five in succession. In Regional meets six out ofthe last eights four in a row: 1963 the U. P. Championship and runners-up in 1962. Our 888 yard relay teams have also won the ll. P. Championship. ccgjfrfv The 1963 Kingsford Track Team were true champions all year. This was best shown by the ability of the team to continue winning even after the loss of key personnel. Even at the U. P. Finals this situation prevailed and individual desire were considered but the team came first. This is the mark of true champions.
