WNW With the whole world torn by the con- flicting ideas of many nations, we have based our theme on our ideals-our freedom and rights as individuals. We respectfully dedicate this annual with its theme, The American Way of Life, to the many graduates and instructors of Kingsford who are now fighting to preserve those ideals, while we at home carry them on. ln these pages we have tried to bring you a small part of what these ideals mean to us. Keep and treasure this annual as a memory of your high school days and as long as you keep it, remember, There is No Way Like the American Way. Dedication

' The American Flag When Freedom, from her mountain height Unfurled her standard to the air, She tore the azure robe of night, And set the stars of glory there: She mingled with its gorgeous dyes The milky baldric of the skies, And striped its pure, celestial white With streakings of the morning lights. Then, from his mansion in the sun, She called her eagle bearer down, And gave into his mighty hand, The symbol of her chosen land. Joseph Rodman Drake

Administration Board of Education To the Students: The American Way of Life with all that it embodies is the heritafe of American Youth. The recent economic depression and the present World conflict have both brought forth problems and changes which tend to threaten this heritage. Greater responsibilities are being placed upon our youth at an earlier age than ever before, thus making it necessary for him to intensify his training to meet these new demands. Therefore, it becomes the duty of every American Youth to acquaint himself with the traditions and ideals of his Country and to befit himself for the preservation of his heritaye. Best Wishes for your success. Sincerely yours, A-, F. C. Sweeney, Superintendent FRONT ROW: Thomas Homes, John Weber, Vital Payant, Frank Rumpf. BACK ROW: Attorney Ray Turner, Frank C. Sweeney, Harry Snyder.
