'y STUDENT COUNCIL A represenfafive group of leaders lcnown as fhe sfudenf council meefs regularly fo discuss problems and find solufions which are favorable fo bofh fhe faculfy and fhe sfudenfs. The sfudenf council consisfs of five sfudenf-body officers and a group of represenfa- fives from each of fhe four classes, Officers from fhe freshman, sophomore, and iunior classes also are members of fhe council. Senior class officers are nof included because fhe sfudenf body officers represenf fhe senior class. Each is allowed one represenfafive for every 25 sfudenfs. Mr. Einar Peferson, vicefprincipal, is faculfy adviser. The council is fhe sfudenf-governing body of our school. All business concerning fhe sfudenf body as a whole is carried on fhere. To loolc ouf for fhe besf inferesfs of fhe school is one of fhe iobs of fhe council, whose main obiecfive is fo improve fhe school. School spirif is sfimulafed fhrough fhe pep rallies and fhe exchange assemblies. Presidenf Tolc Fulcuda, who presided over all sfudenf council meefings, ably led fhe sfudenfs fhrough a successful year. Some of fhe proiecfs carried on by fhe council during fhe school ferrn were fhe sponsoring ofa successful dance and a clean-up campaign, and fhe improving of conducf af pep rallies and assemblies. Re-presenfafives were senf by fhe council fo all disfricf meefings of fhe California Associafion of Sfudenf Councils, where fhe opinions of high school sfudenfs may be known fhrough fhis larger organizafion and where fhe delegafes have a chance fo learn of ofher schools and fheir sfudenf councils. The KI-TS sfudenf council, fogefher wifh fhe ofher high school councils in fhe San Joaquin Valley, belongs fo fhe Associafed Sfudenf Councils of America.
