The Senior Class of 1979-1980 is a class with many important memories. For ex- ample, it is the last class required to take Contemporary US History or Studies as Seniors and the last class requiring only 13 units to graduate. Ir is also the first class requiring the Competency Test for gradu- ation, the first class to graduate under Bob McRae, the first class to graduate in the new decade, and the first class in several years fo be required to take final exams unless exempted by an A or B average or perfect attendance second semester. IN 1962, when most members of the Class of 1980 were born, John F. Kennedy was President of the US. Now, as. this class's graduation approaches, his brother, Senator Edward Kennedy, has an- nounced his presidential candidacy. Also in 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. Now, Ameri- cans are having difficulty finding enough gasoline to make it around the block, and the price of gasoline, which was 29¢ in 1962, is now up to 99¢ average. The Senior Class Officers are Laura McGinnis — President, Leslie Hambright — Vice-President, Janet Childers — Secre- tary, Eric Barnett — Treasurer. oS ae ee? ts ” rk ee) Dp. reg bar Ua take t J BPR oS NES 7 tga: SPOR LR ea ORS SOR . 20
