There are men who have reached the top, and have not been successful. There are also men, who are successful, but have not reached the top. There is a man, a very special man, that has succeeded in reaching for, and grasping his dream. And even in the time of his life, he has experienced all that would satisfy an ordinary man. But he continues to reach, farther and farther, because he is not an ordinary man. That is why. Mr. Bill Musgrove, this 1977 Hualapai is dedicated to vou. Dedication A teacher, a sponsor, a companion, a friend. He's come so far, in such a short time. The dream is within reach of his outstretched fingers. It won't be long now. The work, the skill required, makes no difference now. Determination is the deciding factor, and with that, all goals can be reached. Many years fall behind him, as he walks the path of life, the years marked by the perfection within them. Only a special person can obtain what is necessary to reach their innermost hopes. The man that possesses these qualities is Mr. Gene Wolff. That is why, Mr. Wolff, this 1977 Hualapai is dedicated to you. Reach for It! Such a small child we all once were. The game to play, a life to live, so far away. A smile, a tear, a cry, a hope. The search goes on, as days go by. Some stop to wonder, and never move on; Some think and walk and continue toward the sky, because there is no limit. It's all in you, to strideor to halt, to run away, or to run toward. Each soul is a miracle, and to fulfill your purpose you must reach for your dream Reach for it, come near and near again, reach for it, and grasp. Band members replaced football team members as escorts for the queen and her attendants. It proved to be the best Homecoming ever, with the exception of one thing. The football team lost to Snowflake by the score of 37-0. Student Council decided that float- building was too costly. Each class was allowed to enter five cars in the parade. Clubs were also invited to enter cars. Winning the car competition was FFA. Culminating the week-long activities was the crowning of Linda Mankowski as Homecoming Queen, 1976. GRADUATION Today the day I graduate. To this school I come no more. This, my goal of the last twelve years. Is what I have been waiting for. The days were laced with fun and games. Along with growing up. I've developed a personality. I've had to measure up Not only to tests and teachers, I had to make it with my peers. Now that the struggle is over, I feel like shedding tears. With the diploma comes a sad thought Growing inside of me. My adolescent years are gone. I must face reality. I honor her when she is pres- ent; Praise her in her absence; And cherish her inner most thoughts. When I summon up remem- brance of things in the past; I remember the sweet silence of life everlasting; And knowing you will always be there. I wonder if life will always be of happiness; And when to expect the sor- row. It is like dreaming of the future; And hoping for tomorrow. I know whether our names, will be forever; But I'm sure our friendship will. FRIENDS You say that you hate them; And you really don't care; But that's when you're mad And filled with despair. When summertime came; And you really had fun; The friendship was plain; You were always on the run. People say you're crazy; You just laugh. Your friendship seems hazy; Then you know that it'll last. Sometimes you'll wonder; If it's worth it at all. Then you know, to hate would be mucl harder. The world would go around at a crawl. Well, you finally have your friend; And you think they're very special; All you can hope is that it'll never end and Your friendships are all but casual. New head coach Lin Parker known to the fans and players as Bearcat provided thrills and excitement even though all games had to be forfeited due to over- looked player ineligibilities. The gains made during the season were impressive with all the players showing constant improvement. Consistent team spirit was always evident as was a very involved coaching staff. A rebuilding year is always difficult at best and the 1976 season was no exception. The future looks bright with many returning lettermen as well as a host of Jayvees and freshmen to bolster any weak areas. Overall, it was an exciting year. Defense gets ready to rip up the offense. Kingman lost to Coconino and to Snowflake at home. In Invitational competition the Kingman team placed in the last quarter of the teams participat- ing, however in individual competition Kingman's Raymond Karr consistantly placed in the top 10 runners. Raymond lead Kingman with 4 first place finishes and 2 second place finishes. Raymond was rewarded All-Conference honors for fine efforts. This was the first season for Kingman Girls' Cross Country. Being the first season there were only 2 dual meets for the girls. Kingman girls came up on the short end of both meets but kept their poise. At Divisional the girls earned 4th place. They were lead by All Conference runner Nancy Bartoo, who finished 2nd at Divisional and 3rd in State Competition. The 76-77 season saw a young Kingman team entering into competition. The Kingman squad had only 1 senior, 5 juniors, and the rest of the team were freshmen.
