FRESHMEN MISS LEILA RICKETTS PAULINE SIMMONS Sponsor President We, the freshmen of 43-44, were accepted this year into M. C. U. H. S. to live and learn. We had class election and elected Pauline Simmons class president, and Miss Leila Ricketts, class sponsor. The Sophomores initiated us in good style and then they repented and gave us a party. It fell to our lot to give the first assembly which, as we were inexper- ienced, was pretty corny. • In the spring the Juniors invited the Freshmen girls to serve at the Junior- Senior Prom. This was a triumph as Sophomore girls usually served at the Prom. We had a candy sale and it was another success. The candy sold, the Freshman treasury was full again, and the rest went home with a sweet taste in their mouth. Our second assembly came in March. It was better than the first but no prize winner. So ends the freshman year for us in M. C. U. H. S. Next year we'll be Sophomores and can initiate some poor freshmen. Twenty-six
