half Coach Olsons charges were never really rn the ball game Fred Wrllrss twenty two pomts were out standrng for both clubs The next game of the season was played agamst Roosevelt rn the gym of St Marys Parochxal School The Kmgsmen won the contest rn therr hlghest scor mg game 67 57 The Maroon and Whrte were never rn danger after the firrst half when they tralled 50 27 The Klng qurntets fast breaks rn the thrrd perrod gave them a lead which they never relrnqulshed The hrgh scormg of both teams can be attrlbuted to the poor defenses of the two clubs Fred Wrllrs hrt for thrrty srx pomts to lead the Kmgsmen wh1le Talbott dropped rn twenty one The Kmgsmen wound up the season at home as they trounced Daycroft 64 29 The Maroon and Whnte were 1n command for the beglnnlng and they led throughout the contest by fourteen pomts Wnllrs led both teams w1th thxrty two pomts In post season play the Kmgsmens first en counter was wlth St Lukes The Maroon and Whrte were nn hrgh sprrrts and upset the Hrlltoppers 68 66 The Varslty held the edge at the foul lme and the vretory was due mamly to thls WllllS scored twenty seven pomts for the wrnners In wlnnlng the St Lukes game the Krngsmen moved rnto the semx flnals where they defeated Roosevelt 75 71 The eharges of Coach Olson were not really ID danger throughout the game and once agarn they held an advantlge at the foul 11ne Wrllrs and Talbott scored twenty erght and twenty two pomts By eommg through wlth a vrctory rn the seml finals the Krng qumtet won the rrght to meet Ham den Hall for the ehampronshlp The Maroon and Whlte won the game 53 50 As was the case IH pre vlous games the Colonlal Roaders agam won from the foul l1ne The game was trght down to the wxre and almost lost rn the final seconds W1lllS Talbott and Bacon netted erghteen srxteen and twelve re spectlvely

Yb- Talbott and Sebra tallied seventeen fourteen and thirteen points respectively for the losers The fourth game of the season was also played at home is the King quintet was edged by Cherry Lawn 49 48 Cherry lawn led throughout the game but the Krngsmen were nexer more than three points behind Willis had eighteen for the losers Coreh Olsons charges lost their fourth straight gime rn Greenwich against Brunswick 67 49 The game was tight up to the end of the first half as the Klngsmen trailed by only one point Then in the third period the Bruins fast breaks became too much for the King five and the Maroon and White were nexer in the game from then on Willis Tal bott and Chesney seored fifteen thirteen and thirteen points respectnely The Maroon and Wfhite got back to the winning side w ith a 54 59 win over Cherry Lawn at the Holmes School in Darien Coach Olsons team was never rn danger as it led by fifteen points throughout the game The rebounding of Talbott and Smith coupled with the fast breaks of Bacon Willis and Chesney gave the Krngsmen the upper hand Talbott was high scorer with fifteen while Smrth and Chesney tallied thirteen and twelve respectively The Colonial Roaders played their next game rn Wilton in a return match with St Luks and were defeated 51 44 Throughout the first half it looked like an upset might be rn the making as the King five led 24 20 at the half The game continued to be nip and tuck up to the fourth quarter Then the Hrlltoppers poured some quick points through the hoop and went on to win Chesney and Talbott were high seorers for King with fifteen and fourteen re spectrvely The Maroon and White returned to their home gym at Stark School and were handed their sixth and final defeat by Brunswick 50 35 A slow start plus the Bruins fast break1ng proved to be the downfall of the Krngsmen Being behind by eight points at the
