Class Rings The class of 1968 is the first graduating class to wear class rings especially designed for KHS. The ring design is unique, with the center being a stone of the student's choice. Keystone High School is engraved around the stone, with small keystones separating the words Keystone and High School. On one side of the stone is a panther, the school mas- cot, while on the other side is our school crest. The crest on the ring is practically like the oiiicial school crest, with the only difference being that the atom is placed above the other three symbols of education instead of beside them. The four symbols of education are at the top of the crest. The atom symbolizes the Sciences5 the lamp of learning symbolizes the Arts5 Music is symbolized by the lyre5 Athletics is symbolized by the winged foot. Below these are the four symbols of industry that have helped to promote the development of our county. The pump jack is symbolic of the oil in- dustry5 the glass bloweris pipe signifies the glass in- dustry, the plow stands for agriculture5 the iron furnace symbolizes the once-important iron industry. In the center of the crest, KHS is engraved. The ring was oiiicially designed in 1966 by a com- mittee of class officers headed by Mr. Clifton Hutton, a former art teacher.
