Just finishing their first year of high school, this class is making decisions which influence all future plans. After a two year, broadly planned educa- tional program the freshmen specialize either in the academic, general, or business course this year. Latin, French, and algebra become in- tegral parts of the curricula for aspiring collegiates. General science, English, and a Pennsyl- vania history-civics course round out the academic program. Homemaking, industrial arts, and art present themselves to the fresh- men who select the general schedule. Just beginning in the business course, freshmen elect a course of study which presents the basic fundamentals. For the freshmen a new world opens up. Vocational clubs such as Future Teachers, intramural sports, and music endeavors in the form of a concert emerge. Beginning the year with election of class officers and student council representatives, the freshmen began to take a role in stu- dent government. Mrs. Ritner, Mr. Stewart, Mr. Shingle- decker, and Mr. Showers are class advisors.
