KEWANEE HIGH SHOWS PROGRESS Each year Kewanee Hlgh has been constantly changmg and progressxng Thls has certamly been true this year as there have been new classes added to the cur rxculum and many achlevements have been attaxned ln the lxne of extra currlcular actlvltxes There were several new classes offered to students thxs year Gen elal Bulldmg Trades course Pub hc Speakmg II and German II were offered for the flrst tlme The general bulldmg class meet mg three hours dally offered ad vanced study 1n manual tralnlng Pubhc Speakmg II and German II both offered advanced tramlng for students ln thelr respectlve lmes of study Some changes were also made m the teachmg staff as the Mlsses Gamble and Llppens gave up teachxng for marrled l1fe Mlss Llla Mlller wished to further her study and was glven a leave of absence for one year and M Lantz took a pos1t1on ln the musxc department of the Galesburg Hugh School Mlss Horler has taken the lers place ln the commerclal de partment has been fllled by Mr Romack and Mlss Mlhallk and Mr Brown have taken the posl tlons of Mxss Llppens and M Lantz respectlvely The bulldmg of a 22 x 12 port able stage ln room 203 has become an asset to the speech department Talkmg plctures were shown t the students for the fxrst tlme thxs year Improvements were also made m the dressmg rooms throughout the buxldmg Although our football team dld not go through an undefeated season as they dld last year we had a plucky team whlch IH spite of xts slze and mexperlence turned in a good record Our debate team too although xunnlng no cups or banners had a very successful season .
