New The one thing that made this year better than all the other years for the band was finally getting new uniforms. To help buy them the band sold Happy Bulletin Boards as well as calendars. Most of the money came from members of the community. The people who donated money were, Rotary Club, Lion's Club, Boosters Club, H.D. Weis, Al Haupt, Pete Haupt, Kerman Motor Parts, Board of Education, Kerman Drug, M. Radavero, and V. F. W. To thank these people for donating money the band put on an hour long concert. Debbie McAfee who plays bass clarinet performed with the All-State Band. This year they performed at Roosevelt High School. This year's officers were, President Joey Sagariballa, Vice- President Rick Cooley, Secretary-Treasurer Pam Cottrell, Representative Larry Georgeson, Reporter Debbie McAfee, and Librarian Michele Hampton. The Chorus began their year by pre- senting an annual Christmas Concert. On the fifth of February, 30 people went to Stockton for the Music Clinic, where there were approximately 7,000 other students attending. One month later they went to Selma to compete against other schools, in an attempt for the superior rating. A'Cappel1a received a II rating, and Girls' Chorus received a III rating. This was discouraging to them, for this was their first performing year. To introduce their Spring feelings, they presented a Spring Concert, and ended their year with a field trip to Santa Cruz.
