The California Scholarship Federation visited the University of California at Santa Cruz. A group of thirteen with Mr. Jim Seay, the sponsor, and Miss Mary Bowen, left for Santa Cruz after school on December 3, 1970. That evening they attended a movie. After spending a rainy night in an ocean front motel, the CSF'ers toured the UCSC campus. Their guides were Joe Altamirano and Ray Rodriquez, KUHS alumni. As in past years, scholarship is the name of the game for CSF. Tanya Goosev and Kathy Kubo, fall semester president and spring semester president, respectively, and Mr. Seay have done their shares to insure this annual ritual.
