This was the first year that the Lettercarriers introduced the band at Varsity football games. They developed their marching skill through practice with the band during the summer. Judy and Kathy Jones made new tassels for the Lettercarriers boots. The Majorettes designed the new uniforms they sported. The money for the uniforms came from two car washes, They displayed their new uniforms at the Kerman Harvest Festival Parade, the Biola Raisin Day Parade, and the various football games. Kathy and Judy got a boot out of making tassels. Letzfercczvfvfzers Q7 2 It took hours of practice to perfect a routine.

During the year, the band, under the direction of Mr. Ralph Cayler, was heard entertaining those who attended football games, parades, and the Spring and Christmas concerts, During the year the band was treated with an unex- pected surprise. Each year the band attends the Band Day at Berkeley, attending practices and performing with other bands at a football game. However, this year Band Day was cancelled.
