4 During the year the annual staff worked hard to produce a good yearbook. The staff started off the year by doing a LAP on the various rules of yearbook design. This year's annual staff was faced with an added pressureg like many other clubs and classes, the journalism class was faced with possible extinction. President Elmer Huter along with sponsors Mr. Knowles and Mr. Shubert discuss old hardware. This year FFA entered a corn growing contest sponsor- ed by Germains Seeds on eight acres of land. They harvested thirty-two tons of corn. They ranked 3rd in the state with net cash eamings totaling 580000. The Chapter has planted 4,000 Christmas trees on the empty land east of the Ag. building. The trees will be ready to cut in tive years. One of their money making projects was their annual Steak Barbecue. Among other activi- ties that kept FFA busy was the Barn Dance, Officers Train- ing, and Chapter Farmer Initia- tion with Central High at Kerman.
