For a team with only two members returning from last year, Kenwood's J.V. squad played ad- mirably throughout the entire season. The stick- sters finished the season in third place with a 5 win, 3 loss record. They started the season like a house afire gaining victories over Dundalk, Hereford, Towson and Catonsville by the respective scores of 2-0. 5-1, 1-0, and 2-0. In the next two games they met their matches and were defeated 3-0 by the Milford Millers and 2-0 by Parkville. The final two games were split in the won and lost column-gaining a victory over Towson 1-0, and being edged 2-1 by Franklin in the final outing. I F-1. Ill. 0605 Marda anxiously awaits the outcome of the scramble between Kenwood's Ruthie Stetzer and a Hereford opponent. The varsity hockey team successfully com- pleted the season with 3 wins, 1 loss and 4 ties. The first game was a 1-1 tie with Dundalk, but the next with Hereford was a decisive 3-0 win. In the last few minutes, the contest with Parkville was tied, 1-1. The clash with Catonsville remained scoreless. The highest scoring for the Bluebirds came when they trounced Sparrows Point, 4-1. Then they went on to defeat Milford Millis first place team, 1-0. Despite all-out efforts by both teams, the clash with Towson ended in a scoreless tie. ln the final game of the season, Franklin bested Kenwood by a 1-0 score. Even though Kenwood,s varsity hockey teal finished the season with just one loss, the out standing defensive combinations of the opposition prevented it from achieving more than a tie for third place in the final standings.
