Seniors During the past two years, two territories, Alaska and Hawaii, achieved a long awaited goal statehood Before their admission to the Union these lands had to prove themselves worthy and responsible enough to bear the name state For together with the increased opportunities and privileges allo Ned these lands there is in volved a greater degree of responsibility toward tl e United States No longer are they on the outside but now despite their separation from the mainland by many miles they are mature enough to accept the duties and responsibil ities of statehood We recognize this and welcome them So it IS also with our Seniors who have matured through knowledge and experience gained here at Kensington High School and are going on to accept the rights and responsibilitie of adults in the world Like our two new states they still have much to learn May they never lose sight of that fact' There is an element of sadness involved in leaving Kensington But there is also an awareness of the new and different challenges which lie ahead The sadness will pass for although the years at Kensington have been warm and enlightening our Seniors are nov ready and most eager to accept the greater responsibilities for which Kensington has prepared them Since our graduates have responded successfull, to the calls of learning they will be expected to interpret Nisely the laws of the land and serve humbly their fellow citizens They possess the thirst for further knowledge and the moral fibre to contribute to society and to realize the Joy of true accomplishment May God speed them' 33' ,.,A 15 5x A Elf .D PII Ot' 141:31 M 4 , If nm' J m DQ an Q-RE r :of-S 1 X404 f.
