mr. lgogerla reefs flw Qfaduafed 0 1956 Mr. Garnett F. Roberts TO THE SENIORS OF l956: Perhaps a message to a graduating class of any year should contain the importance of fundamental truths, the appreciation of these great principles to present situations, and the hope that success will come to its members to the degree which they merit. The extent of your learning and scholarship will govern the depth of your thinking and the judg- ments af which you are capable. Your personality and character have already been formed in a great measure by the value which you put upon integrity of word and action and to the tolerance you show toward the thoughts and habits of others about you. Strangely enough, most of these everyday habits of life will not greatly change in the coming years. Studies indicate that those who are now reserved and studious remain so, while the extroverts in school become the social and political leaders in their communities. Thus to know your own char- acteristics will help you adjust yourself to life sit- uations. The challenge to the class of i956 is as great as that of earlier classes. Our youth must be ever stronger to excel the scientific training of youth in captive countries. American diplomacy should strive to avert all-out war while it extends material aid to the underprivileged peoples who at present lack the stability to become self-governing. All our resources and statesmanship will be needed to help communities, states, and nations aligned with each other in good faith and mutual respect. The potential benefits of atomic energy for peaceful purposes are just becoming evident so that not only America but the whole world may be on the threshold of a Golden Age. May you each receive your just share of its full- ness.

.jcnziingfon 'MA cameo Wit. Jeff? Mr. Frank J. Kelly This year, we at Kensington welcomed our new assistant principal, Mr. Frank J. Kelly. As a chemistry and English instructor at Seneca and Kensington, and as assistant principal at South Park and Lafayette, Mr. Kelly has gained invalu- able experience in supervising young people, which has made him a capable and understanding leader. His fairness and diplomacy reveal him to be a man of strong character. Kensington is not unfamiliar to the Kelly family. Mr. Kelly taught here for eight years, and Mrs. Kelly is a former Kensington librarian. Mr. Kelly has a wide range of interests, but aside from being a father to four children, Robert, Elaine, James and Jerry, and owning our home which is constantly in need of repair, he enjoys reading and watching sporting events. When asked what he thought of Kensington, Mr. Kelly replied that he thought it was the finest school in the city. He said, l believe that the out- standing characteristic of the school is the friend- liness of the students, among themselves, and with their teachers.
