Mr. Thomas Mountain, Mr. Angelo Gianturco. SCIENCE Scientifically inclined students have a great educational opportunity at Kensington. The science college entrance course offers such challenging subjects as Biology, General Science, Physics, Chem- istry, and Radio. The excellent teachers present the MATH Nearly every knowledge-thirsty student at Ken- sington has studied one of the mathematics subjects, for this branch of learning nourishes the mind and stimulates curiosity, Algebra - elementary, inter- mediate, and advanced, plane and solid geometry, SEATED: Miss Mary Stcuclle, Miss Virginia Mayer, Mr. Martin Larrabee. subjects in a lucid and attractive manner employing all the facilities available. Various clubs have been formed for interested pupils who desire to augment their scientific knowledge and to learn by doing. EMATICS and trigonometry develop logical thinking and pre- vent absurd conclusions. We all agree that the knowledge we gain in our math classes is as powerful as the turbulent waves of the ocean. COMMERCIAL A number of Kensington's graduates will in the future enter the business professions. These stu- dents will not have to face an unknown and dark world like the sea, for they have had a preview of what is in store for them. Typewriting, shorthand, bookkeeping, business arithmetic, and secretarial and office practice, -all are taught by our out- standing commercial department. This gives the students the knowledge and skills which will enable them to perform competently their first jobs in the business world. PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SWIMMING The aims of the physical education department are compatible with those of education in general. The department seeks to attain its aims by utilizing the total muscular body activities. Teaching sports- SEATED' Mrs. Wilbur Bergstrom, Mrs. Hazel Nilson, Mrs. Anne M. Lufkin Mr, Ralph S, Duquin. I7 manship and coordination, this department has been a spearhead in the development of extra-curricular activities and the Kensington spirit, CLINIC When we are ill the clinic is our solace.
