The purposes of the club are to learn about the teaching profession, in- cluding its opportunities, and problemsg to help members determine what interests and abilities they have in relation to various fields of teachingg to cul- tivate in each member the qualities essential for good teachingg and to provide in- formation about colleges and universities which of- fer teacher-education pro- grams. Medical science profession- als are invited as special speakers concerning the fields of member interest -- pharmacy, nursing, medical technology, veterinary medicine, medicine and surgery and psychology. School service projects include: operator for the elevator before, between periods, and after school, and promotion of health ca- reers on Career Day. Community service projects are: Collection of magazines, comic books, and paper- back books for Viet Nam Veterans hospitalized at Fitzsimons Hospital and for nursing homes, and a Christmas program and party given for the Jewish National Home for Asthmatic Children. TMW Sponsor - Mrs. Isenberg PEE CH CL UB The purpose of the Forensics organization is to increase the abilities of young people in the area of self expression. This is done through city and state competition in speaking catego- ries. These categories are Debate, Extempo- raneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Discus- sion, and Humorous Dramatic, Poetic, and Gratorical Interpretation. Since many of the speeches are required to be in general in- terest areas composed of topics important in our modern society, participants not only increase speaking ability, but increase their knowledge of the World around them. In addi- tion to providing Valuable experience for later Vocational endeavors, the organization fosters fellowship among students.
