One thin tree. A mound, And two men, Vladimir lMarc Archerl and Estragon lLee Gerberl. The men seem to await someone else's presence, someone by the name of Godot. Nothing to be done. they say as they wait. i And into the scene fall two others: Pozzo lBob Albersl and his menial Lucky lRick Jonesl, both of whom are just as outcast from uniformity as Vladimir and Estragon. During the course of Pozzo and Lucky's presence, Vladimir and Estragon watch in fascination and horror as Pozzo abuses his ant i What do you expect? lt's not his job. l, eventually commanding Lucky to dance and finally nink. Aloud. l He even used to think very prettily . . . once. I could listen to him for hours. Now 'zo bids adieu to Vladimir and Estragon and he and Lucky leave. A moment later a boy lBrad Jamsl announces that Mr. Godot won't come this evening but surely tomorrow. in the two men are alone. Nothing to be done. they say as they wait. Finally Vladimir says, Shall we go? 5 Estragon. Yes, let's go, But they do not move. iting for Godot , far-out as it appeared on stage, won high acclaim from the ARGUS drama .ci its audiences for the professional quality of acting.
