MCKINLEY EXCHANGE Students switch for human relations study Learning to understand people is an integral part of education. Reading about others' motives and mores vvas not enough for about twenty-five Kennedy students and an equal number of students from McKinley High School. Each group spent about five days in the foreign culture. The Kennedy students lived in homes in VVashington's, inner city, attended classes and participated in the host school's activities. The next week McKinley exchange students visited Kennedy. Besides attend- ing classes, they participated in panel discussions, and lived in the area. Most attended the VVINX bas- ketball game, adding vital spirit to the cheers. The students involved in this program learned that in order to achieve the understanding which will lead to satisfactory human relations, communication is imperative.
