Class History In August of 1945» we started our school days at Kennedy. Mrs. Addle Baker helped us through our first year. There were I4.O of us in the first grade. By the second grade with Mrs. Willena Davis we were getting to be old hands at coming to school. The thing we enjoyed most with Mrs. Lydia Plyer was our Third Grade Fair. Our fourth year with Mrs. Marceline Willis brought on learning to multiply with four numbers. In the fifth grade with Mrs. Blanche Hydrick we were introduced to fractions. The sixth grade was a pain to a few of us. With Mrs. Yvlette Savage many of us got our first spankings. In '51 we had to accustom ourselves to the ways of high school. Mr. Luther Jones had a diffcult time getting us started. We welcomed Margaret Dunn to our class. Mr. William Carpenter brought us through the 8th grade, we had to say good-by to Margaret Dunn. We were also glad to have Mr. Carpenter again in the 9th grade. This year, we gained Lorine Wilson, Jerry White, and Joe Max Watkins. We began taking Home Economics and Agriculture and more priviliges came our way. We lost Nell Wilson to Pervy Carroll through marriage. Rachel Long was advanced from our class. Mr. M. E. Karr brought us through the 10th grade where we welcomed Rosa Lea Gilreath, Louise Gilreath and Mazine Crowley. We were sorry to lose Joe Max Watkins. In our 11th year with Mrs. Ellen McAdams we presented our first drama, A Feaudin' Over Yonder.” Our banquet theme was Oriental . We lost Jessie Nell Griffin and Mazine Crowley. Mrs. McAdams stayed with us for our senior year, when we lost Charles Howard, Lefoy Jones and Nell Bradford Foster. There are now 26 of us, 11 of the original class. Kathleen Rushing, Class Historian
