Moliere, an actor, director, and playwright in 17th Cen- tury France, is considered the father of Modern Comedy. The Miser, centers around Monsieur Harpagon, the wealthy old miser, who cares only for his money, but falls in love with the beautiful Mariane. Unfortunately, Mariane is in love with Harpagon's son, and so the family plots to prevent their father's marriage without losing their chances for inheritance. This was the first play directed by Mr. David Thomp- son at Kennedy. Mr. Assink was the technical director. Audience Ccaptivoted by jiff rr y f' .a ,Ji HARPAGON iEric Ulfersj battles with his son Cleante while Master Simon Uay Snell! is caught in the middle.
