Mr. E.E. Brickell has again served Virginia Beach City Schools in the ca- pacity of Superintendent. In this position, he has many responsibilities to an unlimited number of people. He must accomplish a great deal in a time when much effort is required to get even little done. He must speak to many when numbers ot people are unwilling to listen. Yet, despite his many demands and obstacles, he effects many advances in our educational system. Many times in life words become in- adequate. Often those times come with parting. It is with this in mind that the following is said. Mr. Morris was the center who laid I Mr. E.E. Brickell- Superintendent of Schools. EDUCATION IS HIS LlFE'S WORK the foundation for what Kempsville I I ' High School has become. For this .. alone, much is owed to him. As a leader, he has set an example, and has filled his position in a manner to be respected. As a man, he has become even more important to us. He is a man of conscience and concern. He is a man who thinks and shares his thoughts. We are very much aware of his feel- ings toward his fellow man for his warmth is felt in interaction. VVe thank you, Mr. Morris, for giving of yourself and hope we, too, have served you well. If it is true that a man gets out of life what he puts into it, you have much to gain. Certainly you can leave this position with a sense of pride and with the knowledge that much of you remains with us. Although his job may seem trying at times, he is always alert to the problems of others and helps them in any way he can. Mr. Fields is the assistant principal in charge of instruction.
