A BASKETBALL The A basketball team opened ILS practrce season wrth St Helena where they lost '96 40 wrth Lakeport where they lost M U9 and wrth a return game at St Helena rn whreh they won 4 Bb After the frrst league game at Lakeport where the Indrans were defeated 34 38 our team dectded to get down to some mtensrve practrce on fundamentals That krnd of practtce brought gratrfytug results as we won the next game wrth Middletown 61 27 Anderson Valley 61 P8 Lower Lake 19 its Upper Lake V3 4a and Lakeport 61 mb whrch gave Kelseyvrlle Induns the LAKE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP The play off for the INORTIIWLSTERN LEAGUL CHAMPIONSHIP was held at Covelo Ill March Both the A and B basketball teams won second place rn the Peace Offtcers Basketball Tourna ment at Lakeport rn March For thls the teams recreved the lovely gold and whrte trophtes on drsplax rn the trophy ease rn the front I all at K U H S The basketball teams both A and B from all the hrgh schools rn the county as well as all the grammar schools rn the county par ucrpated rn thts tournament Don Augensteln led the county m scormg B BASKETBALL Although the Kelseyvrlle B s had only two lettermen return1ng they had a good season and managed to fuush second rn the Lake County League In thcrr ftrst league game the B s dropped a 29 12 deerston to Upper Lake Next the B s took a 4b 27 laerng from Lakeport but rn therr second league game the lndrans beat Mrddle town if 31 for therr thrrd league game Then they won over Upper Lake and Mrddletown to put them 1n .1 league tre wrth Lower Lake The B s fell apart tn the frrst quarter of the champlonshrp game and lost to Lower Lake 50 Lee Roy Sulley and Bob Tallman were plcked as fust team members of the All County and All League teams ll ll . s . 1 ' ' 4 , -' s ' s ' H ..
