FOQTBALL When football season started thrs year Kelseyvrlle was prcked as a second drvrsron club The boys worked very hard every day rn practrce and when the frnal gun sounded the lndrans emerged the new Lake County Champtons There were three practrce games at the beglnnrng of the season The frrst was at Wrllrams where the score was Kelseyvrlle 38 Wrllrams 7 The second at Mendremo Crty we lost posslbly because of rnjurres to two of our players Aaker and Krrkpatrrck The thlrd played wrth Laytonvrlle on our freld yrelded a 67 0 vrctory for our team The Indrans frrst league game was played at Mrddletown Our boys had a hard ume gettrng started and were trarlrng 6 O at half trme But rn the second half the Kelseyvrlle power really started to show both offensrve and defensrve Fmal score Kelseyvrlle 26 Mlddletown G In the second league game Kelseyvrlle downed Upper Lake 32 20 Next was the long awarted battle wrth the Lower Lake Trojans Before a good crowd at Kelsey vrctory The fourth and frnal league game was played at Kelseyvrlle agamst Clear Lake Unron Hrgh Our boys played a terrrfrc game and came out on the long end of a 20 19 score Thrs gave us the Lake County Champronshlp and the rrght to represent Lake County ID the Northwestern League play off at Covelo The play off game wrth Covelo was played at Covelo on December 2 A heavy ram fell throughout the game addrng tnehes more of water on an already soaked turf Our boys played a very good game but the frnal score gave Covelo a 7 O vrctory Roy Everhart Les Aaker Done Bone Don Hoberg B111 Hudspeth and Jeff Mahnke who are all senrors played therr last game for Kelseyvrlle Thrs wrll be a season they w1ll always remember Other than the senrors Joe Evans Crarg Krrkpatrrck Larry Rogers Walter Bone and Stanley Morehead made up the team Kenneth ylreks and Robert Fultz were the managers They drd a good Job and deserve much cred rt One fellow we want to pay trrbute to IS the coach Thrs was Mr Gorbenko s frrst yeat at Kel seyvrlle and he has turned rn a great Job Every nrght he stayed out wrth the boys unul dark drrll mg on fundamentals He never gave up and hrs players never gave up untrl the frnal gun sounded Great Job fellows I ville, our team made a fourth-quarter drive to stab the Trojans 22-20--our third straight league
