Dont get us wrongg it may not be the figures for their own sakes that she loves. She uses them to prevent edu- cational square pegs in round holes. Many johns and Marys have found their right places in the muze of subjects because she helped them to the best choice. All these facilities .uyiiluble in 106 and 200 help to route the student throughout his high school career. The Place to Get 0ur Bearings iuiriion oom peace ure The division period, the core of the school day, is the all important session during which the poli- cies of the school are made known to the students through the division teachers. Above all, this is the portion of the school day designed to help the student work out his main purposes in life. It is in planning his future that the student gets to know and to admire the unseltish, the wise, and the friendly counsel of an understanding division teacher. He comes to high school with a vague notion of what he wants to do. His division teacher, aided by objective tests, sees to it that his courses are chosen with a definite plan and purpose in rnind. Before he has reached his final year, not only the requirements for graduation are understood, but the prerequisites for the college of his choice. Mrs. Rheinstrom is indicat- ing various sequences available for Branch students. Much individual direction is possible during this quarter hour. Wliile Mrs. Gilkeson charts a course for a few girls with program conflicts, the other students seize the oppor- tunity to brush up on the next periods assignment. 25 Wil
