BEGINNING OUR SECOND YEAR WE WERE CALLED TOGETHER BY DUR SAME LEADER, WHO GAVE US INSPIRATIDN AND LEADERSHIP WHILE WE DRIPTED ovER THE RAPIDS or 1946-1947. A SIG SUCCESS or THAT YEAR CAME WHEN WE GAVE 'GRANDPAIS TwIN SlSTER.' AS IT CAME THE YEAR '47-'48, WE AGAIN GAINED A NEW LEADER, COMMANDER MADONNA, wHD LED US THROUGH MUCH STRIPE AND HAROSHIP. ONE or oUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS THAT YEAR wAS 'FDR PETE'S SAKE.' YES, THE SKIPPERS PROSPERED IN THE YEAR '47-IAS, AND SAILIN WAS SMOOTH IN THE WATERS OF THE RIVER EDUCATION, AS OUR LAST AND FINAL YEAR ARRIVED-'THE ONE WE HAD wAITED FOR so MANY YEARS--WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE ANTICIPATION THAT THE END or oUR TRAINING WAS NEAR. HERE WE MET wITH A VERY GREAT LEADER, ADMIRAL YOUNG, WHO LED Us GALLANTLY OVER THE WATEREALLS TO QUIET WATERS, BUT ALAS: MUCH EXCITEMENT HAS TAKEN PLACE, A GAR- NIVAL wAS HELD WITH oUR FELLOWvSWABBIES THE JUNIORS HELP- ING, ALSO OUR PLAY AND PIGTURES, OH: BUT NOW IT SEEMS WE MUST ANcHoR GUR SHIP AND TRAVEL BY LAND--THIS JOURNEY TO BE GUR LAST BEFORE oUR PLATOON BREAKS UP AND EACH SKIPPER TAKES COMMAND or HIS owN SHIP.
