To the graduates of the class of 1957: I have an invitation to write a few words-meaningful ones. This is an opportunity which deserves my most careful attention. What can I say that will make a difference to a graduate of the class of 1957-make a difference today, tomorrow, and in the years to come? What gem of wisdom, from the wealth of experience which is our heritage or from the limited experience which is personal, can I focus upon for your benefit? What can it be-that will cause you to read it-to remember it-to dwell upon it-to he influenced by it? Over and over I ponder. I choose. I discard. Finally, I have it. I know what I will say-in a language you understand. Read it. Remember it. Think about it. I know it can make a difference. BE WILLING TO DO MORE THAN YOU ARE PAID FOR.
