Her first adven- ture was taking a Cook’s tour of Europe on a ‘‘shoe-string budget.’’ During the years since her first trip, she has visited nearly all the countries of the world as well as traveling extensively over the United States. Miss Hutchinson has often combined work with pleasure by taking courses at various universities such as the University of Mexico at Mexico City, University of Guatemala, San Marcus in Lima Peru, Whittier College, Univer- sity of Hawaii, and University of California. A couple of years ago Miss Hutchinson put a “‘string around the package’’ with a round-the-world trip, revisit- ing many places and seeing some new ones. Greece, for instance, she liked so much that she returned a year ago to spend most of her summer vacation there. Miss Hutchinson has become a part of Kearny through working with the students personally and through classroom work. She has been an English teacher here in San Diego for 25 years, and has helped many students obtain an education after graduation with scholarships. Miss Hutchinson has also contributed much of her time to American Field Service for 5 years, making it possible for Kearny to send three students abroad, and to bring three foreign students here. So it is to you, Miss Viletta Hutchinson, that we dedicate with pride the ‘65 KOMET!
