Mr. Kent Curtis, vice principal Mr. Curtis Cares About Students Mr. Curtis is the vice princi- pal in charge of textbooks, reg- istration, and curriculum. He really enjoys Kearns High and feels that K.H.S. gives students abundant opportunities for aca- demic, personal, and vocational development. No new-comer to Kearns, Mr. Curtis has been vice principal since 1970, although he took a short leave to try his hand as an elementary school principal. Counselors Check Grades, Schedules The counselors monitor stu- dents' grades, and adjust their class schedules. They also reg- ister ninth graders in the spring and help seniors with scholar- ship applications. Along with everything else, they help ju- niors and seniors with the Work release program. New this year on the counsel- ing staff are Mrs. Elvia Gray- bell and Mr. Laron Olsen. Mr. Olsen is not new to K.H.S. since he has previously served as a classroom teacher and night school counselor. Mrs. Graybell comes to Kearns from Cyprus High School. Again this year, Mr. Les Catmull is the head of the Counseling Department. We appreciate all the unself- ish help which the counselors give to each individual student. ns Elaine plunges into another exciting project.
