Mr. Christopulos Encourages Academics 72 Principal Mr. Christopulos made many changes in strengthening the curriculum for the 1983-84 school year. His major goal was to improve the quality of each department. Throughout the year, he encouraged students to set goals and achieve them by taking more academic classes. Parents and students voted for the eight-period block schedule which enables stu- dents to enroll in eight classes, taking four classes one day and the other four the next. Mr. Christopulos believes that block scheduling benefits the students' attention span. He su- pervised many curriculum ad- vances, such as the new em- phasis on computer science. And he made sure the depart- ment has excellent equipment to develop computer skills. Mr. Christopulos has thor- oughly enjoyed his six years of being the principal of Kearns High School. His most difficult task is trying to coordinate var- ious activities to meet the needs of the faculty, students, and parents, When students reach their goals or expectations in life, Mr. Christopulos feels the school has been successful.
