Cougar Band Marches Into PubIic's Eyes The goal of the Cougar Marching Band was to get back into the eyes of the public, and that's exactly what they did. Under the direction of Mr. Ron Hamblin, the Band grew from 20 to nearly 60 members. They also participated in five pa- rades, placing in two of them. To gain greater public notice, the Band played at many busi- ness grand openings and pri- vate parties. In November, they went to St. George to par- ticipate in the Dixie College homecoming festivities, from which they returned with a 2nd place trophy for the parade. Our Band also performed at the Region Marching Band Field Competition at Hillcrest where they received a standing ova- tion from the audience for their show. Throughout the year, Band members held many fund rais- ers to finance trips and parties. The Cougar Band represent- ed Kearns High with pride and honor this year. Their support at football and basketball games was appreciated by all. Good Luck to the future Kearns Cougar Band and Thanks to the 1983-84 March- ing Band. 150 Marching Band COUGAR MARCHING BAND - Left to Right, ROW One!
