Soccer Grows In Popularity One year ago, soccer was sanctioned by the Utah High School Activities Association, so it is now a regular school sport. The program is gaining popularity in Utah. Soccer has great appeal since it is the most popular sport in the world, out- side of the United States. At press time, the Soccer Team had merely been formed. Last year, the team placed fourth in region, and this past winter, the indoor team took first in state, so prospects looked bright. Among the bet- ter players were Peter Boyce, Bob Geertsen, Javier Viena, Tim Geertsen, and Ergun Ok- cun. We wish the Soccer Team the best of success!
