Young Team Plays Well This year's Girls' Basketball Team was young, being com- posed mostly of sophomores, of whom only three had played in junior high school. Neverthe- less, the team still managed to take fifth place in region. The most valuable players this past season were Captain Debbie Cedarstrom and her co-captain, Tawna Loveday. The team agreed that basketball was a lot of fun, are looking forward to- ward a great season next year with a more experienced team. Seniors Debbie Cedarstrom and Tawna Loveday are the only ones who are leaving. The Girls' Basketball coach was Mr. Sorich, who has coached the girls for the last seven years. Mr. Sorich re- marked that he really enjoys coaching the girls, and felt that they did very well. agmqmf ,W Can I have that ball! New Coach Heads Gymnastics Team The Gymnastics Team had barely begun their season at press time, so it wasn't possible for us to report on their season in detail. However, they did have a new coach this year, Kim Baker, who worked them very hard in the early morning hours. Another new addition this year was the spring-board floor which was installed in the girls' gym. This floor helped the gymnasts meet more chal- lenging goals and perfect new skills. The Gymnastics Team com- petes in several events such as floor, beam, bars, and vault. The team looks promising for this year, although many of the top girls will be graduating this spring.
