Holidays Bring Festive Mood Christmas week at Kearns High started with the tradition- al Christmas Tree Lane for which the clubs decorated Christmas trees in the main hall. There was also a Christ- mas assembly which was very amusing. Santa Claus put in a persoanl appearance, and sev- eral clubs participated. Faculty members even performed as lit- tle children listening to The Night Before Christmas. As part of the week's festivi- ties, the vocal music groups put on an evening concert. Spirit Week Draws Support Spirit Week Was Widely sup- ported this year. The cheer- leaders, who sponsored the event, succeeded in creating a lot of excitement, competition, and pride. Throughout the Week, there were various dress up days such as Hbackwards and inside- out day, 'Acrazy green and gold day, Fabulous Fifties day, and 'tNeW Wave or Punk Rock day. During lunch, there was a series of eating contests: ba- nana stuffing, marshmallow stuffing, Jello slurping, and root beer guzzling. Firday was a dress up green and gold day. The Spirit Stick was found by Lisa Stosich. HI listened to the clues and figured out that it had to be hidden in the Lost and Found, she explained. The overall Winners of Spirit Week were the sophomores, who also Won a tug-of-War against the seniors. The Winners in the hall deco- rating contest were the seniors. l Chance Brimhall stuffs a banana. 100 Spirit Week The Cougars cream the Warriors!
