Holidays Bring Festive Mood Christmas week at Kearns High started with the tradition- al Christmas Tree Lane for which the clubs decorated Christmas trees in the main hall. There was also a Christ- mas assembly which was very amusing. Santa Claus put in a persoanl appearance, and sev- eral clubs participated. Faculty members even performed as lit- tle children listening to The Night Before Christmas. As part of the week's festivi- ties, the vocal music groups put on an evening concert. Pride Week Boosts Spirit The purpose of Pride Week is to boost school spirit, and make our students proud of K.H.S. This year, there was an essay contest in which the partici- pants were asked to finish the statement Kearns High School is on Target . . . The three winners each won cash prizes. Kitti Hubbard took top honors. In the 'tPlant Your Plot Pro- ject, 325 students from various organizations were assigned tracts of ground on the barren hill north of the school. Each participating group added top soil and planted spring bulbs. The daffodil and tulip bulbs will add some color to the hill in the spring. The K.H.S. TV Studio pre- sented a film about the history of the Kearns community which was narrated by Mr. Barry Richards. Pride Week's final activity was the talent assembly which attracted and held a large audi- ence. The first place winners were James Marsden and Vietta Furgesson.
