There is no doubt that the Kearney basketball boys were exciting to watch. It derived from their street-ball style. After many practices or games, many of the players would get together and play jamball for hours. The combination of hours of practice and jamball made the Bulldogs an up-tempo threat against any team. This temp led Kearney to a I4-I2 record. The outside bombs from Juniors Jim Robertson, 22.3 points per game, and Mike Miller, I4 points per game, complemented well with the strong inside game of Darin Ritter, l5.2 points per game. The scoring trio led Kearney to two victories over rival and state-finalist Lathrop.
