DECA is a vocational youth organization for students in the C.O.E. program who are working toward distributive occupations. DECA offers a student the chance to participate in school activities as a part of an organized club. Students can demonstrate their skills or abilities in contests at the district, State, and national levels. The DECA member learns responsibility and has the opportunity to gain social and leadership skills through DECA activities. What is C.O.E.? Cooperative Vocational Education means a cooperative work study program of vocational education for persons who, through cooperative arrangement between the school and employers receive instruction, including required academic courses and related vocational instruction by the alternation of study in school with a job in any occupational field, but these two experiences must be planned and supervised by the school and employers so that each contributes to the student's education and to employability. 1978-7 Cfficers Top Row: Mr. -Witt, Advisor, Marlene Elliott, Treasurer, Pam Harmon Reporter, James Fox, Secretaryg Barbara McCarty, Parliamentariang Lies, President. FHA Invades The School Soon after school began the Future Homemakers of America met with their sponser, Mrs. Renfro, and voted Eva Thoman, President, Tammy McOsker, Vice Presidentg Barbara Scott, Secretary and Lisa Snook, Treasurer. Alice Carlson was the returning historian. During the year FHA had a picnic and a Thanksgiving and Christmas breakfast. They also celebrated FHA week with various activities.
