The Kearney Pom-Pon squad enjoyed a fine season beginning in June when the girls received a spirit pon at camp. This enthusiastic spirit lasted throughout the 1978-79 year producing a successful season. The football season went smoothly and not one game was played without the Pom-pon girls in performance. The highlight of the successful basketball season was when Kearney shared the court with Excelsior for a joint performance.
